Telepsychiatry has arrived at LifeLinks!

Telepsychiatry LifeLinks is excited to announce a brand new program to help our consumers with psychiatric services!

Beginning in January 2012, LifeLinks will be offering telepsychiatry! Telepsychiatry is currently one of the most effective ways to increase access to psychiatric care for individuals living in underserved areas.

Telepsychiatry, or telemedicine, is a specifically defined form of video conferencing that can provide psychiatric services to consumers living in remote locations or otherwise underserved areas.

This service will connect our consumers with a psychiatrist through the use of videophones. Consumers who have participated in telepsychiatry in other parts of the country report that they are satisfied with the care they are receiving and feel that telepsychiatry is a safe and reliable way to obtain psychiatric care.
