LifeLinks Hold Open House
Thursday, November 1st, 2007 celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the new LifeLinks facility. The open house, located at 750 Broadway Avenue East, Mattoon, Illinois, was a successful event. The day also honored the retirement of our longtime Executive Director, Kathy Roberts. Click here for more photos of the open house.

LifeLinks, formerly Coles County Mental Health Center, appoints new Interim Executive Director
Effective September 1st the Board of Directors of LifeLinks, formerly Coles County Mental Health Center, has appointed Lynette Ashmore as Interim Executive Director. She replaces Kathy Roberts who is retiring after 22 years of service.
Lynette received a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation from Eastern Illinois University in 1975 and was awarded a Master of Arts with a major in gerontology from Eastern Illinois University in 1984. She began her career with Coles County Mental Health Center in 1980 as a Sustaining Care Specialist and was responsible for the development of Coles County Mental Health Center’s initial day treatment program for those individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness.
Ashmore was actively involved in organizing the current residential housing program, including a 16 unit supportive housing apartment complex in Charleston, Courtyard Square, and a 16 unit apartment complex in Mattoon, Logan Courts. In 1985 Ashmore was promoted to Program Coordinator and, on November 16, 1988, became the Director of Community Support Services. She and her husband, Jack, reside in Charleston.
